Harry Emery explained he 100% agreed to manager Neil Ross’ invitation into the U23s on the morning of the match on Monday, stating “this is where I want to be” following his u21s experience.
“We were having a chat about where I want to be. I told him I want to be pushing into the 23s soon and he said there’s an opportunity tonight. I said ‘100%, yes’.
“Rhys got injured, I wasn’t expecting it to be me [to come on] but I put a good shift in I reckon.”
Emery is expected to return to u19s action on Wednesday in their fixture vs Yorkshire Amateur.
“It’s helped me in terms of physically, and in terms of game awareness. I want to build on today, from a personal point of view and because I’ve now got this experience, try and take that for the other [u19s] lads.
