Neil Ross revisited his Farsley Celtic u23s’ missed first-half chances, including one disallowed goal and another which hit the post, in a match where hosts Emley AFC’s three second-half goals won Monday night’s fixture.
“If we put our chances away, like we normally would, we’re going in three of four-nil at half-time and the games dead. But against teams like this, if you don’t put your chances away, there’s a chance they’ll get goals and they did.
“First-half possession was good, it was just not being deadly in front of goal and normally that’s not where it lets us down. Second-half we go out chasing the game and trying to get that goal, I think we’re getting frustrated trying to get that goal. We go one goal down and I think everyone’s heads dropped and it was downhill from there.
“It seems a common problem that when we go one goal down, everyone starts playing a totally different way and it affects the whole team”.
The u23s host Hemsworth Miners Welfare at the Citadel in their next fixture on Monday 29th November.
