Farsley U16s’ Kyrell Kavanagh has been awarded Parry Lane first-team’s Young Player of the Year award ahead of the Celts’ quarter-final on Saturday.
Forward Kavanagh’s debut season for Parry Lane’s Sunday top side, joining aged just 15, with Farsley playing on Saturdays, has accumulated a number of goals and assists, resulting in him being awarded the accolade as voted by his teammates, players a minimum of two years older than himself – generally even older.
A goal for Kavanagh in Farsley’s previous fixture against the JPL Plate quarter-final opponents Yorkshire Elite helped Farsley to a 3-2 victory.
Three goals in seven matches is the tally for the forward so far during the pre-Academy’s post-season competitions.
Kavanagh’s been invited to train with Farsley’s U18s this week ahead of potentially signing for next season, following his successful debut season for Farsley with the U16s.
The U16s beat Oldham Athletic Development Centre in the previous round.
Kavanagh looks to extend his U16 season further by winning his side’s quarter-final away trip vs Yorkshire Elite at Crawley Lane Fields in Heckmondwike on Saturday 12th June, 9:30am kick-off.
