Yorkshire Amateur have appointed Jake Boyd as joint-manager, partnering his role as academy manager with leading the first-team.
Boyd joins current joint-manager Ashton Campbell and their assistant Sean Burton. Liam Willingham has vacated his position in the management team.
An initial input was to lead Ammers’ 2-1 victory away at Ollerton Town on Tuesday in the new joint-manager’s opening fixture.
Five scholars have earned first-team debuts so far this season under Boyd’s leadership; Harry Abson, Amari Smith, Eloi Nyom, Sam Ali and Monroe Sternberg.
Retaining playing duties in a player/manager role, Boyd started in the recent victory as well as against Parkgate last Saturday, being a regular feature in the first-team squad.
“When asked to return to assist managing the first-team, the time felt right whilst the academy and scholarship are flying”, instilled Boyd.
“The management have brought in some talented players – I’m excited to get into the coaching of the squad and do everything I can to support us pushing to the next level”.
In the return fixture of the opening day, Wombwell Town visit The Southerns Stadium on Saturday, 3pm kick-off.
Ticket prices for Wombwell: Adults – £6, Concessions – £4, U16s – £3.
