British Army Veteran James Cairns visits Academy

British Army Veteran James Cairns today delivered a talk to the Farsley Celtic Academy players about his military service in Afghanistan when a shot from a sniper led to James losing his leg.

James and his team at ‘Fivemenin’ are raising money for charity ‘Who Dares Cares’ while raising awareness for PTSD not limited to those who have served military service.

Who Dares Cares say: ‘the aim of our charity is to help support individuals and their families, from all walks of life, who are suffering from PTSD’.

BBC Look North have also invited James to speak on tonight’s show.

Academy manager Neil Ross said: “It’s a great opportunity for our lads to see life from a different perspective and how fortunate they are to be doing what they are doing”.
