The U21s equalised twice before two direct free-kicks led to an opening day defeat against Hemsworth Miners at Castleford Academy.
First Kelan Gorski in the first-half and then Freddie Bernard in the second pulled Farsley level but they were unable to stop two set-pieces into the top corners and in turn, leaving without any points.
U23 experienced Harvey Kelly & Kadeem Morton were among a mainly uncapped Farsley squad for their season opener.
Casey O’Reilly promised a fast attacking style and so it was despite a quick start from Beeston in the opening ten minutes.
Kelly denied strongly when one on one at his near post on 7 minutes after a through ball into the right of the box met its target.
But Beeston beat the ‘keeper two minutes later from a much less impressive move.
Farsley failed to deal with a corner from the left aimed at the far post which took some time to finish but eventually gave Beeston the lead.
From here on, Farsley looked a different side, first evident on 11 minutes as Gorski held a forward ball up, inside the box, before passing back to Sharp who curled right-footed from outside the box but over the bar.
Freddie Bernard’s power and pace was treating him to much luck down the right and his low cross on 23 minutes skimmed through the corridor and was just missed by Sharp running in in the centre.
The assister then went close himself after rising highest after a deep free-kick from the right, powering a header back across goal and it was dipping and beat the ‘keeper but wouldn’t drop under the bar.
The equaliser came unsurprisingly through Kelan Gorski’s pace on 35 minutes.
Joe Jordan’s through ball down the right was met by Gorksi’s run inbehind and turning into the box, the forward passed to the left of the ‘keeper to level.
But Beeston restored the lead before half-time, attacking with pace themselves on 42 minutes.
A ball in-behind wasn’t dealt with by Farsley’d defence and the forward ended up round ‘keeper Kelly with an open net to finish into.
Farsley equlised once again after Beeston’s ‘keeper dropped the ball into the path of Bernard on the hour.
Favour Omoruyi’s deep free-kick from the left was attacked the Beeston ‘keeper but after fumbling the ball straight to Bernard, he had an open net to equalise.
Two minutes later – Beeston were ahead again.
A simple free-kick from the right of the edge of the box curled into the near top corner.
Substitute ‘keeper Andy Doey denied a fourth after a through ball into the box was shot towards goal but the ‘keeper stood big and got behind it.
He was to be beaten again, however, again an unstoppable free-kick from the opposite side.
Diving for the shot, he appeared to dislocate his shoulder and the game was abandoned with less than ten minutes of normal time to play with the result standing.
