Yorkshire Amateur’s new midfield trio, Sanchez Payne, Rio Hairyes & Josh Boast all impressed during their trials through pre-season whilst Jamie Bedford returns for a second year.
Payne, 30, appeared on Leeds United’s bench in 2012. Payne was later released from Elland Road before making a permanent transfer to Stockport County in 2014.
The midfielder / attacker signed for Bradford Park Avenue during the 16/17 season and more recently for Albion Sports through 20/21 and Steeton the following season. Payne returns to Yorkshire Amateur after playing his junior football with the club.
Hairyes, 19, a winger or attacking midfielder, was on scholarship at Tennessee Wesleyan University last season.
The wide-player played his youth days at Ossett United before transferring stateside.
Boast, 17, is a defensive midfielder, just completed his first year of scholarship at i2i football academy.
The defensive-minded player lists both York City academy and Halifax Town academy on his resume as part of his youth career.
The trio join Jamie Bedford who returns after featuring for The Ammers at the end of last season.
Bedford, 22, is a central midfielder who played for Lancaster University for the majority of last season, winning the Northern Cup in the process.
Three competitive debuts could come true in The Ammers’ NCEL Division One’s opening weekend fixture at Wombwell Town’s Recreation Ground on Saturday, 3pm kick-off.
