Halifax Town & Yorkshire Amateur centre-back Alfie Gibbon has learnt from ‘different challenges’ within The Ammers’ first-team, who he is currently signed for from The Shaymen on dual-registration terms.
Gibbon, 18, made his Ammers first-team debut on 16th November against Hallam and is since a regular in Ammers’ starting line-up following his short move across West-Yorkshire.
The defender has since made his Shaymen first-team debut on 21st December against Albion Sports in the West Riding FA County Cup.
“I wanted some experience in the men’s league,” began Gibbon regarding moving for first-team opportunities.
“The physical aspect, the tactical aspects, different play styles, a more direct style, different challenges.
“It [the debut] was a big learning curve for myself. I enjoyed it.
“I’m enjoying my time here but I need to give back to the club as well.”
Ammers travel to face Thackley tomorrow at The Dennyfield in the NCEL Premier, kick-off at 3pm.
